Police: Tahoe driver turned in front of motorcyclist in northeast valley crash

11:15 A.M. SUNDAY UPDATE | The driver of the motorcycle killed was a 59-year-old resident of Youngstown, Florida. His passenger, 60-year-old Marcia Rongey, also of Youngstown, was in serious but stable condition at UMC Trauma. Both were ejected from the 2017 Harley Davidson Street Glide.

The initial police report says a 2004 Chevy Tahoe driven by a 23-year-old Las Vegas man turned into the path of the motorcycle. The driver of the Tahoe and two young juveniles were not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

The death was the ninth traffic-related fatality in LVMPD jurisdiction this year.

ORIGINAL | The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's fatal detail is investigating a car crash that killed a person in the northeast valley Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred just before 1:10 p.m. and involved an SUV and motorcycle.

East Lake Mead Boulevard is closed between Walnut and Stevens streets.
