One person was treated at a hospital after a two-alarm fire at an east valley townhome early Sunday.

Clark County firefighters responded at 4:09 a.m. to the fire in the second-story at 5469 Escondido, near South Maryland Parkway and East Russell Road.

Crews attacked the fire and simultaneously evacuated residents from the exposures on both sides of the affected unit.

A second alarm was called to the scene bringing the total personnel to 46.

The fire was under control at 430 a.m.

One resident was transported to an area hospital for medical reasons not related to smoke inhalation.

There were no reports of firefighter injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
