LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A photographer has filed a civil lawsuit against wide receiver Davante Adams and the Las Vegas Raiders over being shoved to the ground after a loss at Kansas City last year.
Park Zebley filed the suit in Jackson County, Missouri, with Landmark Event Staffing Services, the Jackson County Sport Complex Authority and Kansas City Chiefs also named as co-defendants.
Adams was caught on camera pushing Zebley to the ground following the team's loss to Kansas City at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Oct. 10.
Attorneys for Zebley allege that Adams deliberately shoved Zebley, who later became nauseous and was diagnosed with "concussion symptoms" at a hospital.
After the push, Adams told reporters in the locker room that he wanted to apologize for the incident. He also tweeted an apology the next day, though that tweet appears to have since been deleted.
The lawsuit says the Raiders never apologized to Zebley though, and Zebley felt concerned for his safety after his personal information and death threats were posted online in the days that followed.
"Plaintiff, reasonably, felt concerned for his own safety and sought counseling and stayed away from his apartment," the suit states.
The Raiders have not commented on the lawsuit, which is seeking unspecified compensation for Zebley's injuries and punitive damages via trial by jury. An attorney for Adams declined to comment went contacted Friday.
Zebley also filed a police report after the shove, alleging he suffered whiplash, a headache and a possible minor concussion. Adams was cited for misdemeanor assault, and a hearing is currently scheduled for June 26 in Kansas City Municipal Court.
