Metro police detectives are searching for a suspect who robbed a medical marijuana dispensary Wednesday morning at gunpoint.

The incident occurred just after 11:35 a.m. on Wednesday at CannaCopia Medical Marijuana Center, 6332 S. Rainbow Blvd., north of West Sunset Road.

"We know this is going to happen it's our industry; we are a high-value target," said Robert Casillas, a partner at the dispensary.

Casillas at least one person robbed the store at gunpoint, taking an undisclosed amount of money and marijuana.

"It made me feel nervous because he could have done something to us," said Ashley Bustos, an employee at an office next door.

Bustos said moments before the robbery someone came in to their office asking to use the restroom.

"He was kind of sketchy," Bustos said.

Surveillance cameras inside their office captured images of a man detectives want to interview.

Casillas tells News 3 detectives took images from their surveillance video as well.

Dispensaries are required to have high-definition surveillance cameras as part of state regulations.

Casillas said he's glad no one was hurt and praised his employees for staying calm.

"They were pretty mentally strong but, of course, having a gun in your face and being detained and taken to the vault. They've been trained to comply," he said.

Detectives are hunting for those responsible and are starting with trying to find out who the man in the surveillance video is.

If you have any information on the crime you are urged to call police.
