The incident was reported just after 5 a.m., according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

The initial investigation indicates the victim, identified as a man in his 50s, was walking with his girlfriend in the area of Bridger Avenue and Casino Center Boulevard. The girlfriend's father approached them and stabbed the man.

The victim was able to make contact with security at the Golden Nugget, who called the police and medical responders, according to LVMPD.

The suspect remains at large, police say, and the victim was taken to a hospital with a laceration to the head that is not believed to be life-threatening.
