Investigators believe one person is responsible for unfounded threats against three valley schools over the weekend, according to a police official.

The threats started Saturday via social media, said Captain Roberto Morales with Clark County School District Police.

Authorities confirmed threats were made against Liberty, Foothill and Silverado high schools. The exact nature of the threats was not disclosed.

Parents and others reported the threats via Safe Voice, and investigators determined the threats were unfounded, Morales said.

Authorities believe all the threats originated from one person, who has been contacted by Las Vegas Metropolitan Police, according to Morales.

It's unclear if that person is facing any charges. A message left for LVMPD has not been immediately returned.

In a post to Facebook, Foothill High School staff said the threat "was resolved quickly and deemed non-credible."
