A suspect is in custody after running a red light and hitting two vehicles, including an RTC bus, and a pedestrian on the Las Vegas Strip Thursday morning, according to police.

Officers responded just after 3:35 a.m. after a car heading north on Las Vegas Boulevard ran a red light, hitting another car driving west on Sahara, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Lt. Josh Martinez said.

The suspect vehicle also hit an RTC bus at a bus stop on the northbound side and a pedestrian on the sidewalk.

The suspect driver tried to run away, but patrol officers were able to apprehend that person, according to Martinez.

Northbound Las Vegas Boulevard is closed from Sahara for the investigation. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, and their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
