Red Rock Canyon waiving fees on MLK Day
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
Visitors to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area will not pay amenity-related fees on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 21, according to the Bureau of Land Management.
Fees for camping and group day use will remain in effect.
After weeks of being closed due to the government shutdown, Red Rock Canyon reopened Jan. 6 after the Department of Interior decided that areas with amenity fees can collect them and operate during the lapse of funding under the Federal Lands Recreation Act.
These amenity fees are collected and reinvested into Red Rock Canyon.
Visitation on Martin Luther King Jr. Day is expected to be heavy with the busiest time being between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
