Republic Services driver escapes truck fire in downtown Las Vegas

The driver of a Republic Services garbage truck escaped injured when his vehicle burst into flames in downtown Las Vegas Saturday morning.

About 9:45 a.m., the truck caught fire at East Bonneville Avenue and S. Fourth Street.

The cab was on fire, but the driver got out safely.

There was no extension of the fire to buildings as Las Vegas Fire & Rescue crews got the blaze under control quickly.

Nobody else was injured, according to LVF&R.

The cause of the fire is yet to be undetermined.
