Ryan Seacrest: iHeartRadio Music Festival bringing fun & powerful moments to Vegas

Heather Mills and Ryan Seacrest (KSNV)

This weekend Las Vegas is jam packed with visitors and A-listers. Topping the chart is the iHeartRadio Music Festival at T-Mobile Arena Friday and Saturday night.

The lineup is sizzling and ready to rock the city.

Host Ryan Seacrest said, “We’re covering the whole scope of artists everyone from Lynyrd Skynyrd to Rae Sremmurd. I mean that is awesome if they’re booked at the same show.”

He said it’s his favorite event all year, but something that takes a year of planning. “We’ll be booking for next year’s show this weekend,” he said.

Dozens of artists including Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Carrie Underwood, Fleetwood Mac, Jack White, Childish Gambino and Imagine Dragons will take the stage over two nights, belting out their best. “It’s just the right amount. You get to hear all the songs that you love and then it’s on to the next one,” Seacrest said.

In a city known for its sparkle, the iHeartRadio Music Festival fits right in and brings the bling. Seacrest said, “You’ve got all of these throwback residencies, you’ve got the pop star residencies, you’ve got the place for the big festivals, the city that’s just 24/7 and all the artists like to come here so it makes it fun.”

But also this year, he said, “There will be some sensitive and powerful moments as well as some fun out there.”

One year after tragedy on the strip, Jason Aldean will mark the night with a tribute to those lost and to those who helped save so many.

Seacrest said, “We felt it important to remember all those families and I think forever remember that moment, but also move on and create the magic that this city is known for, day in and day out.”

If you didn’t get tickets to the show, you can watch for free at home. The entire concert airs on the CW, October 7th and 8th.
