LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Clark County Fire department battled a fire early Saturday morning on the second floor of a house on Syracuse Drive, near Harmon Avenue and Sandhill Road.
The fire was reported just before 2:30 a.m. The first firefighters to arrive at the scene called for additional crews after seeing the size of the blaze.
An elevated stream from a ladder truck and hand lines were used to knock the fire down enough for crews to make entry and complete their search for possible occupants. The house turned out to be unoccupied and under renovation. There were no injuries reported and damages are estimated in excess of $120,000.
A total of 48 fire department personnel responded to the fire, including 7 engine companies, 2 ladder trucks, 2 rescue units, 2 chief officers, and 2 fire investigators.
The fire’s cause is still under investigation.
