Southbound I-15 to close between Flamingo and Russell Roads Thursday night

A small stretch of the southbound I-15 will close down at 10 p.m. on Thursday, forcing motorists to take a detour around the construction. The southbound on-ramp at Flamingo will also be closed.

The temporary closures are needed for Active Traffic Management sign installation as part of Project Neon – a nearly $1 billion 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from the U.S. 95 interchange to Sahara Avenue that began in 2016. Kiewit Infrastructure West Co. is the design-build general contractor, with Atkins North America as lead designer. Project Neon is 92 percent finished and scheduled for substantial completion this summer.
