Suspected DUI driver strikes 3 pedestrians, killing 1, near Nellis and Sahara

    UPDATE, March 11 | The Clark County Coroner's Office has identified the man killed as 47-year-old Michael Guild.

    He died from multiple blunt force injuries, and the manner of death has been ruled an accident.

    ORIGINAL | One person is dead and two others injured after they were struck by a suspected DUI driver late Friday night, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.

    Officers responded to S. Nellis Boulevard north of Sahara Avenue on a report of a vehicle-pedestrian crash around 11:45 p.m., LVMPD's Fatal Detail said in a statement.

    They learned a 2003 Nissan 350z was heading east on Sahara and turning left on Nellis when it went off the road, hitting three pedestrians and a bus stop.

    All three people were taken to Sunrise Hospital, according to LVMPD, where one pedestrian, identified only as male, was pronounced dead.

    Injuries to the other pedestrians were described as minor.

    Police suspect the driver of the Nissan, identified as 20-year-old Victor Castro-Solano, was impaired at the time of the crash, and he was arrested at the scene. Jail records indicated he was booked on suspicion of DUI resulting in death among other charges.
