Suspicious device found near Shadow Ridge High School rendered safe
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
Explosive technicians have rendered a possible pipe bomb safe after it was found by a resident in the far north valley Saturday afternoon.
The device was found about 1:20 p.m. in the 9300 block of Brent Lane, not far from Shadow Ridge High School, said Lt. David Sims of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
"Armor and the bomb squad have rendered the device and area safe," Sims advised News 3 in a text. "It was not on school grounds, but an adjacent street. Officers are working with (Clark County) school district police to ensure the surrounding areas are clear."
Lt. Sims said that the device appeared suspicious, and no one was present at the school.
Investigation is ongoing.
