Senator Ted Cruz arrived in Southern Nevada this weekend, ready to get busy campaigning ahead of Tuesday's GOP Nevada caucus.

Cruz hopes to gain ground in the Silver State, speaking to crowds in Pahrump, and later in Henderson.

Hundreds of Cruz supporters waited to hear from the presidential hopeful.

"We're here tonight because our country is in crisis," Cruz told the crowd of supporters.

Cruz was also surrounded by high profile supporters including political pundit Glenn Beck and Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt.

"He's chosen the people over the machine," said Laxalt. "Ted Cruz is that man."

"The land in Nevada needs to be owned by the state of Nevada and even better -- the people of Nevada should have control over your own lands," said Cruz.

Cruz appealed to the conservative base, promising a dramatic change in leadership.

"I am convinced the most long-lasting legacy of Barack Obama is going to be a new generation of leaders in the Republican party who stand and fight for liberty ... who stand and fight for the Constitution," said Cruz.
