A suspect that may have killed the three boys was arrested about 3 a.m., according to Lt. Peter Kisfalvi.

"We did a search warrant on the vehicle that was completely destroyed and some paperwork in there led us to him," the Metro officer said. "He was just one or two neighborhoods away from the crash scene. He faces numerous felony charges and is in custody at the Clark County Detention Center."

Kisfalvi said the man was 25 to 30 years old and did not show signs of being under the influence because he was arrested about 5 hours after the crash.

The deaths make a total of nine people killed while on Las Vegas sidewalks this year, according to safety expert Erin Breen.

Three boys were struck and killed by a vehicle night in the eastern Las Vegas valley.

The crash occurred just before 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of East Desert Inn Road and Cabana Drive, east of South Nellis Boulevard, according to Lt. Peter Kisfalvi of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The ages of the victims were 12, 12 and 15, and Lt. Kisfalvi said two of the deceased appeared to be brothers.

A fourth victim, a 13-year-old boy, was transported to UMC Trauma.

Police are searching for the driver, who appeared to be Hispanic or Asian, who left the scene on foot.
