Twenty rescued from stuck elevator at Drai's Nightclub

Firefighters were able to rescue about 20 patrons of a Strip nightclub who became trapped in a stuck elevator early Sunday.

Shortly before 4 a.m., the Clark County Heavy Rescue unit responded along with units from Las Vegas Fire & Rescue to Drai's Nightclub at Hotel Cromwell, at Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard South.

The CCFD did not provide details on the rescue or what may have caused the stuck elevator, but said its crews cleared the scene at 7:49 a.m.

The victims were rescued and all denied medical assistance.

Drai's released astatement Sunday afternoon:

At approximately 3:30 a.m. this morning, one of the elevators at Drai’s Nightclub shut down unexpectedly. All guests inside the elevator have been evacuated and are safe. We take great precautions to make sure all our guests are well taken care of at all three of our Drai’s experiences (Drai’s Nightclub, Drai’s Beachclub, and Drai’s After Hours), and will continue to maintain the highest level of safety.
