LAS VEGAS (AP) — An infant and a 2-year-old were found dead and a man was hospitalized with smoke inhalation after a fire at a house in eastern Las Vegas, authorities said Tuesday.
Deputy Clark County Fire Chief Warren Whitney told reporters the first firefighters to arrive a little after 10 a.m. fought heavy smoke and spent about 30 minutes extinguishing flames.
Whitney said it appeared the fire started in a front room and spread to a bedroom, where the boys’ bodies were found.
The house is in a neighborhood of single-family homes near East Lake Mead Boulevard and Sunrise Mountain. Whitney said it was badly damaged.
Fire and police investigators were trying to determine the cause of the fire and the circumstances of the deaths.
The relationships and names of the man who was in the house and children were not immediately made public, pending notification of family members by the Clark County coroner.
