Two suspects arrested for string of 2017 arson fires in Beatty
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson in connection with a string of fires reported in the Beatty area last year, according to state law enforcement.
The Nevada State Fire Marshal and Nye County arrested John Wirth and John Wootton on Thursday, July 5, for fires that sparked in Beatty on Aug. 22, 2017.
Both Beatty residents, Wirth and Wootton are charged with two counts of attempted murder, three counts of first-degree arson, one count of second-degree arson and three counts of possession of an incendiary device.
Both suspects are booked at Nye County Detention Center, and they're being held on $150,000 bail. No other details have been released.
