LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — UNLV's College of Fine Arts is inducting the 2023 honorees for its Hall of Fame.
Among them are Emmy and Sag award-winning actor and comedian Brad Garrett.
The ceremony is posthumously inducting Gloria Dea. The first person to perform magic on the Las Vegas Strip.
Dea was 19 years old when she performed at the El Rancho Hotel in 1941. She passed away last week at the age of 100.
Dean Nancy Usher says she looks forward to seeing the college grow.
Organizers also announced a new building for the College of Fine Arts is currently in the works. Right now, the project is in the planning stages.
This year's group will join past inductees like Las Vegas headliners Penn and Teller, Lance Burton, and The Killers.
The Hall of Fame was founded in 2003 to honor those who made a significant impact in the arts.
