University Police remind campus community members to please take the following actions to help ensure their own safety especially at night and on weekends:

  • Remain vigilant of your surroundings.
  • Pre-program the number for University Police in your cell phone for use in an emergency: (702) 895-3669.
  • Remember: when you dial 9-1-1 from a non-campus phone you are calling the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and their officers will take longer to arrive to help you than University Police.
  • You can also download UNLV’s RebelSAFE mobile safety app. The app contains a function that allows you to directly call the UNLV Police Department Emergency Communications Center on your smartphone without first contacting Las Vegas Metro Dispatch.
