LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Wake Clinical Research Center of Nevada announced Friday that it would be starting Phase 3 vaccine trials for COVID-19 in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area in the coming weeks.
From the beginning of the pandemic, an effective vaccine against the deadly virus has been seen as the biggest step in overcoming the pandemic and all of its impacts on daily life.
The center is currently seeking volunteers for the trials. They must be at least 18 years old. The center also says that it is seeking volunteers with and without health issues for the clinical trials.

Compensation will be provided based on time and travel, and benefits for patients include evaluation and surveillance for the virus, contribution to the historical fight against the virus and a possibly effective vaccine against the disease.
According to the center, trials will be done in compliance with health department regulations and in accordance with the “Good Clinical Practice Guidelines.”
The center is also setting up outpatient therapeutic trials for mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 along with other preventative treatments.
Henderson pediatrician Michael Levin is the primary investigator for the trials.
