WEATHER AUTHORITY: Hazy skies, possible showers on Thursday

Haze can be seen over the Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. (KSNV)

We'll see mostly sunny and hazy skies for most of Thursday, but showers and thunderstorms are again forecast to develop in the afternoon and evening hours over the higher terrain with an isolated storm possible in the valley.

It's still going to be hot with an afternoon high of 108 degrees in Las Vegas.

While the Excessive Heat Warning has expired for most of the area, western Clark, southern and central Nye counties are still under that warning for the rest of today because of the dangerous temperatures.

More storms are possible both Friday and Saturday with temperatures near normal and a few lingering storms are possible in the mountains on Sunday and Monday.

Drier conditions are forecast to return next week.
