Woman bludgeoned with baseball bat wanted divorce from husband

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A divorce may have sparked a deadly confrontation between an estranged husband and wife.
Police say 37-year-old Slobodan Miljus hit his wife of 13 years with a baseball bat.

On Friday afternoon, the mother of two was found inside this apartment near Sahara and Fort Apache with injuries to her head. Police investigators say her husband, Slobodan Miljus hit her with a baseball bat.
Wille Arballo tells us what his wife heard that day after Bencun fell to the floor. Arballo lives in the apartment below the couple. Police say Bencun's teenage son ran to a nearby gas station and called 911. Arballo saw the police hurry to the apartment.
"The officers were upstairs banging on the door", said Arballo.
Officers entered the apartment through an open window and they say Miljus was laying on the bed with his wife. Police immediately arrested him.
Kalasia Gaskin lives right next door to the couple. She remembers briefly talking to Miljus two days before police rushed up the apartment stairs.
"He did seem kind of sad for the last couple weeks. I didn't think he would go so far", says Gaskin.
Bencun's mother who lives in Bosnia told a newspaper there that her daughter was in the process of getting a divorce from Miljus. The two had been married for 13 years and she says Bencun had enough of what she described as a rough marriage.
Arballo remembers Miljus speaking about the divorce.
"She filed for divorce, so maybe he blew his stack because of that", said Arballo.
Bencun leaves behind two boys.
"I just hope the kids have somewhere to live and get through this. Have some help for them. This is certainly going to be hard for them", said Gaskin.
