Rescue crews responded to a woman who fell about 20 feet at Ice Box Canyon Sunday afternoon, inside the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.

The crews responded to a call they received at 2:01 p.m Sunday from hikers saying they heard women yelling for help.

The injured woman was found about a mile into the mouth of the canyon, alert and conscious. She was wearing a helmet but suffered a laceration to her face.

Paramedics carried the woman back to their vehicle in the parking lot. The extent of her injuries are not known, but they do not appear to be life-threatening.
