Woman killed in pickup rollover near Overton; cause being investigated
OVERTOZN, Nev. (KSNV) —
UPDATE, July 16 | Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the driver killed in the crash as 60-year-old Barbara Lynn Young from Logandale, Nevada.
According to NHP, Young's 2002 Ford Explorer was driving south on State Route 169 when, for an unknown reason, the Ford left the road and went onto the dirt shoulder, hitting a paddle marker
Young over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the northbound lane and overturned on the left dirt shoulder.
ORIGINAL | The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a woman in a one-vehicle rollover near Overton.
The crash occurred about 3:40 p.m. on State Route 169 at Mile Marker 22.
Initial reports are a yellow pickup truck went off the roadway and down an embankment. The truck was occupied by a female and is confirmed deceased on scene, stated NHP Trooper Jason Buratczuk in an email.
Factors of the crash are yet to be determined as a fatal detail team is still en route to investigate.
The traffic impact is light because of the vehicle being off the roadway.
