28-year-old Hend Bustami is behind bars, charged with murder after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department says she stabbed her mother to death inside their home and took off to California.

Andres Moreno has lived next door to the family for two years and says the police were regularly at the home resolving domestic disputes between the two.

“I would have never seen this coming. She was never aggressive or mean toward anybody in the neighborhood,” said Moreno.

After getting calls about somebody being injured inside the home of Jones and Cactus police say they went there around 2:30 AM and found the mother had been stabbed to death.

Investigators say the mother was in a verbal argument with her daughter, later identified as Bustami.

Friends of the mother showed up at the home to check on her after she wouldn’t answer the phone.

They say they were with the mother the night before and she feared her daughter.

Yesterday she was at a friend’s house, and she said she told her I’m worried to go home, maybe she will kill me.”

Bustami made national headlines in late august when she was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport.
