A woman is dead after falling off a golf cart in San Antonio's neighborhood, The Dominion, late Thursday night.

The accident happened just before 11:30 p.m. off Dominion Drive.

San Antonio Police said that 61-year-old Elsa Rapanotti was riding in the passenger seat of the golf cart when the driver made a quick left-hand turn, which threw the woman off the cart. The woman hit her head on the curb of the sidewalk.

She was rushed to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Police said the driver, identified as Mark Allen Utterback, 53, showed signs of intoxication when they arrived. He told officers that he was coming from the Club House where he was out for dinner and had several drinks, according to the warrant.

After police said he failed a sobriety test, Utterback was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter. He's being held in Bexar County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
