LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Representatives from the Raiders and stadium developers presented their parking plan to the Clark County Commission on Wednesday.
The parking plan, released last week, designates four off-site parking lots to be used for parking for games and events, along with limited onsite parking.
Developers say this is the first stadium built in the age of ride-share, and they anticipate about 20,000 pedestrians traveling from the Strip by foot.
A majority of commissioners were in support of the parking plan, but Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick said 13,000 parking spots is a hazard for traffic.
Commissioner Lawerence Weekly questioned the strength of safety precautions for pedestrians in the plan, while others shared concerns about drivers filling up parking of surrounding businesses.
Overall, the commission accepted the report and are awaiting the next steps in the process.
