Getting healthy is always a popular New Year's resolution and Weight Watchers is here with tips to keep you on track. (KSNV)

Getting healthy is always a popular New Year's resolution but sticking with it is always the hard part.

Heather Avila is here from Weight Watchers of Las Vegas to share some tips for making 2018 your healthiest year yet.

Weight Watchers is a point-based program where each food is assigned a certain number of points and you're allowed so many points a day. However, they've launched a new program called Freestyle, which is a lot more livable and just as effective.

Participants now have the option of more than 200 zero-point foods including things like chicken, eggs, fish, tofu, and beans, without tracking or weighing or measuring portion sizes.

Some delicious and healthy items you can cook up include:

  • Vegetarian lentil and black bean chili
  • Baked chicken with lemon and fresh herbs, served with veggies
  • Salmon with roasted chickpeas and veggies
