Las Vegas Academy celebrates 25th anniversary at Arts Gala (KSNV)

The Las Vegas Academy is celebrating its 25-year anniversary, which is a huge milestone, as the community celebrates the past 25 years of education in the arts.

Given the high caliber of its celebrity and student entertainers, the annual gala is quickly becoming one of the most popular events in town, attracting top community and business leaders, art patrons, and socialites.

Friends of Las Vegas Academy's continued goal is to support the dreams of these aspiring students to master their arts and share their gifts with the community in dozens of performances and exhibitions each year. As they look back on the past 25 years of education in the arts, their goal is to continue the tradition of excellence as they look forward to a bright future so that every child, everywhere, can 'Experience the Arts.'

Their host for the evening, Keith Thompson, is a composer, conductor, and musical director for Broadway and Las Vegas Strip shows, most notably "Jersey Boys", "The Producers", "Hairspray", and "We Will Rock You".

Keith is the founder and host of the popular Composers Showcase at Myron's Cabaret Jazz, and also the co-composer and musical director of the brand new comedy-musical "IDAHO!" which premiered at the Smith Center in Reynolds Hall.

Bob Torti and Delee Lively-Torti, talented husband and wife duo of stage and screen, will grace the stage with the tap-dancing Musical Theater Majors, 140-voice Symphonic Chorus, and award-winning Jazz Ensemble, in the title number of their Spring Musical, "42nd Street".

Maestro Jack Gaughan, conductor and musical director for countless Broadway and Las Vegas Strip musicals, will be at the podium at the Silver Anniversary Gala.

Gaughan will conduct their Philharmonic Orchestra and Broadway 'Showstopper' Randal Keith in music from "The Phantom of the Opera".

Lindsay Roginski is a Broadway actress, singer, and dancer and principal singer in the Wynn's "Showstoppers". She will perform Cole Porter's beloved standard "I've Got You Under My Skin" with the Jazz Ensemble and Ballroom Company.

LVA Alumni Serena Henry is a multi-talented entertainer, currently singing with the icon Smokey Robinson on tour. She will perform an original arrangement of John Lennon's "Imagine" featuring the Philharmonic, Symphonic Chorus, Dance Majors, and Alumni guest vocalists. It will not be a number to miss!

The LVA 25th anniversary gala will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 13 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.
