Las Vegas (KSNV) — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) recently confiscated a de-militarized rifle after a man was found to have the weapon in his possession while headed to Nevada.
According to a report by an NBC affiliate station in Austin, the passenger was on an outbound flight from San Antonio to Las Vegas, where he was set to attend the Shooting and Hunting Outdoor Trade Show, or SHOT Show.
TSA agents at the San Antonio International Airport found the weapon and confiscated it from a male passenger’s luggage Monday, according to a Twitter post.

It is legal to travel with a firearm as long as a passenger declares it, keeps the weapon unloaded, and stores it in a locked, hard-sided container within a checked bag, TSA says.
Agents later found that the passenger had not declared the 84MM Carl-Gustaf M4 recoilless rifle, and he was later escorted to their office.
Police say the man was planning to exhibit the weapon at the trade show, which is taking place in Las Vegas from January 17th through the 20th.
No charges are pending at this time, and the man was able to rebook a flight to Nevada without the weapon, which a family member picked up following TSA questioning,
