Southwest Medical Pharmacy and Home Medical Equipment

Southwest Medical Pharmacy and Home Medical Equipment

When people think of health care, most people picture a doctor or a nurse, maybe even an exam room. But they don’t really think about pharmacy or home medical equipment.

A lot of people probably aren’t even familiar with what home medical equipment really is. When we refer to that, we’re referring to things like breast pumps, diabetic testing supplies, hospital beds, oxygen, mobility such as walkers, wheelchairs and scooters, wound care, ostomy supplies, and small volume nebulizers just to name a few. And that’s what we do. We bring equipment and services to your home, we manage care for patients, in-between providers and home health care staff, and we do so with compas-sion.

Pharmacy and home infusion therapy allows patients who require regular intravenous therapy to do so in the comfort of their home. We have a team of pharmacists and sup-port staff who provide antibiotics, hydration, immunotherapy and chemotherapy, nutri-tion, as well as other various intravenous medications and even tube feeding. There’s been a significant discussion in health care about where care takes place, and as you may expect – care at home is better. And when we’re able to provide care at home, it’s a win for the provider but it’s especially a win for the patient.
