Full Sportscast: Golden Knights even series with Jets, head home for games 3 & 4


Jonathan Marchessault scored twice and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 30 shots, lifting the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-1 series-evening win over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night in Game 2 of the Western Conference final.

"Every time we need a big game as a group, we show up," Marchessault said. "Maybe we showed the hockey world we deserve to be here."

Kyle Connor scored midway through the third period to pull Winnipeg within a goal. Marchessault restored the two-goal lead 1:28 later.

Tomas Tatar scored 6:37 into the game for the Golden Knights.

Connor Hellebuyck had 25 saves for the Jets.

Game 3 is Wednesday night in Las Vegas.

Kevin Durant scored 37 points and Klay Thompson added 28 to lead Golden State to a 119-106 win in the long-awaited showdown with the Houston Rockets in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Monday night.

The No. 20 UNLV men’s golf team shot an opening-round 2-under-par 282 Monday and is one shot back at the 2018 NCAA Columbus Regional, which is being played at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course.
