Full Sportscast: Golden Knights notch first shootout win in franchise history

Alex Tuch scored the game-winning goal in the first shootout at Vegas, and Malcolm Subban stopped all three attempts he faced during the tiebreaker as the Golden Knights topped the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 on Tuesday night.

The expansion Golden Knights improved to 6-1 in overtime games, including 5-0 at home.

James Neal, Oscar Lindberg and Erik Haula scored in regulation for Vegas. Subban made 26 saves.

Shakur Juiston scored 19 points with seven rebounds and three steals as UNLV got off to a slow start before running past Oral Roberts 92-66 on Tuesday night to halt a two-game losing skid.

The Rebels (7-2) won six straight to start the season before losing in overtime to both Northern Iowa and Arizona.

Juiston had 17 points in the first half. Brandon McCoy totaled 17 points with Jovan Mooring adding 15. Jordan Johnson chipped in seven with 11 assists.

UNLV trailed early, but Juiston hit a jumper and followed with a layup to start a 25-7 run that led to a 41-28 halftime advantage.

The Golden Eagles never challenged in the second half.

Some sad news out of UNLV Tuesday night: Ron Meyer, the winningest coach by percentage in UNLV football history, has passed away at 76-years-old.

UNLV did not provide a reason as to why he died.

In three seasons at UNLV, he finished with 27 wins and 8 losses before being hired away by SMU.

He went on to serve as an NFL head coach for the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts before becoming a pro football analyst for CNN.
