Full Sportscast: Golden Knights prospect makes international noise
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
On Wednesday night, the Western Conference-leading Vegas Golden Knights will return to the ice for the first time since blanking the Washington Capitals 3-0 on Saturday.
The Golden Knights play at Anaheim 7, taking on a Ducks team they've defeated twice this season.
Meanwhile, one of their top prospects is making international noise.
In a preliminary round game of the World Junior Hockey Championships Tuesday, defenseman Erik Brannstrom, the Golden Knights' 15th overall pick in their inaugural entry draft this year, had a goal and an assist for Sweden, in the team's 6-1 win over Belarus.
The future is looking golden not just for the Knights, but for the Runnin' Rebels too.
On Tuesday, they learned that Rebel junior forward, Shakur Juiston, was named Mountain West Conference men's basketball player of the week.
The 11-2 UNLV men's basketball team opens conference play Saturday against Boise State.
As for the future Las Vegas Raiders, one game remains in their sorely disappointing season. It’s Sunday in Los Angeles, against the division rival Chargers.
