Full Sportscast: VGK drop third straight home game, Former UNLV football players in AAF
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) —
The Vegas Golden Knights, coming off two straight wins on the road, suffered their third straight loss at home Saturday night when Cam Atkinson of the Columbus Blue Jackets scored two goals less than three minutes apart to lead Columbus to a 4-3 victory at T-Mobile Arena.
Nate Schmidt, Jon Merrill and Cody Eakin scored for Vegas, while Marc-Andre Fleury made 29 saves.
The Golden Knights dropped to 16-7-3 at home.
They host the Arizona Coyotes Tuesday.
Kris Clyburn scored 15 points for the UNLV Men's Basketball team Saturday, but the offense of opponent Fresno State was just too hot.
At the Thomas and Mack Center, the Bulldogs' Braxton Huggins had 31 points in Fresno State's 83-65 win over the Runnin' Rebels.
UNLV, now 6-5 in Mountain West Conference play, hosts Air Force at home on Tuesday.
Three former UNLV Football players made the rosters of two teams in the new Alliance of American Football.
The AAF made its debut Saturday.
The developmental league will play its championship game at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on April 27th.
