Las Vegas resident Alex Cejka comes up short at Shriners Open
LAS VEGAS (KSNV News3LV) —
The 35th year of professional golf in Las Vegas was another success, as local golfers made a run at another title at TPC Summerlin.
In the feel-good story of the tournament, former Rebels golfer A.J. McInerney used his exemption to the fullest by finishing tied for 10th place at six under and taking home over $150,000.
In the end, longtime local Alex Cejka went 8 under on the final round to land in a three-way playoff with Patrick Cantlay and Whee Kim, both looking for their first career PGA victory.
On the second playoff hole, Cejka misses a 16-footer that would have forced another playoff hole, and Cantlay tapped in for the title.
