Kay Dimanche is an award-winning journalist who has spent her career covering local and national stories in the Southeast, Southwest and Midwest.
However, she is thrilled to be back home in Las Vegas!
She joins News 3 after working at Spectrum News-1 in Charlotte, NC.
While there she covered the coronavirus pandemic, 2020 presidential election, and community-based stories.
During her time with KOAT, Kay won the New Mexico Broadcaster Association’s “Reporter of the Year” award.
Some of her favorite stories included getting results for viewers who found themselves stuck in consumer gridlock scams or helping those who were ignored by local and state officials.
She also spent time in Joplin, MO, working as a multimedia journalist and weekend anchor.
However, Kay’s career started here in the Silver State.
While attending the University of Nevada, Las Vegas she often co-hosted “The Like it is” radio show with Franklyn G on Power 88 (KCEP FM 88.1). She also worked behind the scenes as a video editor at KTNV-Channel 13.
Kay is a proud daughter of a phenomenal and at times strict Haitian mother.
It’s thanks to her Kay fell in love with news at a young age. Every day after school, they watched local news together.
Kay went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism and Media Studies with a concentration in Criminal Justice.
She is also a member of The National Association of Black Journalists, The Society of Professional Journalists, and a member of Investigative Reporters & Editors.
When she’s not working she enjoys exploring the city, volunteering at her church, working out, and being the favorite auntie!
