Two ramps for U.S. 95 at Martin Luther King Boulevard will be closed for the weekend clear the way for bridge demolition, according to transportation officials.

The Nevada Department of Transportation says the southbound off-ramp and northbound on-ramp will both be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday, April 13, through 5 a.m. Monday, April 16.

Two southbound lanes on MLK Boulevard will be closed as well, from Bonanza Road to Mineral Avenue, along with a southbound sidewalk during the same time frame.

Commuters will be able to use Rancho and Alta drives and Bonanza Road for detours, according to NDOT

The closures are the latest part of Project Neon's "Main Event," the final phase of the 4-mile-long widening of Interstate 15 from Highway 95 to Sahara Avenue.

Crews will be working on bridge demolition, with debris rubble crushed and reused as fill material.
