Charleston Boulevard will be closed at Interstate 15 this weekend, starting Friday night, to accommodate construction on Project Neon, according to state transportation officials.

The closure will start at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, and last through about 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, between MLK Boulevard and Commerce Street, said a spokesman for the Nevada Department of Transportation.

The I-15 off-ramp for westbound Charleston will also be closed, though the north/south routes will stay open.

The closure will be in place for bridge demolition and crash beam foundation work, part of Project Neon, the widening of I-15 from the Spaghetti Bowl to Sahara Avenue.
